About Us
Growing a greener Alleghany Highlands one tree at a time
Horse Mountain Farm is a small farm located in Alleghany County, VA, specializing in selling Dunstan Chestnut trees raised from seeds. Horse Mountain Farm wants to lead the way in encouraging green habits and believes education is the key to creating more green advocates who will also work to protect the environment and our natural resources as well as provide more secure, sustainable food sources.
Vision Statement:
Horse Mountain Farm wants to promote agricultural systems that have a positive impact on the environment, society, and animals. Beginning with providing food-bearing trees, compost, and vermicompost in a sustainable manner and expanding into educating the public on the benefits of composting organic waste versus landfilling.
